Finding spots to pick your own pumpkins isn’t difficult in the Puget Sound area. There are many locations all around the area and most feature other attractions besides the orange gourds.
Here’s a look at just a few of the patches available around this part of Washington State. It’s a great time for the whole family and an outing maybe to some outlying places closer to home than you think.
Schilter Family Farm
Located at the Nisqually Cut Off Road in the southeast part of Olympia, this longtime family farm features festival-style events all year round, as well as a corn maze and wagon rides for many of those events.
They host their Fall Harvest Festival from Sept. 24 to Oct. 31. A wristband gets you admission to all kinds of events besides just a pumpkin or two to pick up. There are pony rides, a hay pyramid, an outdoor tricycle track and plenty more to see and participate in.

Rutledge Corn Maze
Another Olympia attraction, this locals’ favorite does have a vast pumpkin patch for you to find the perfect gourd.
Beyond that, there is the giant corn maze of its title for you to explore. Also featured at Rutledge are corn hole games, swings, a corn cannon (for real!) and storytime events for children. There’s also the Haunted Corn Maze, great for children ages 10 and up and completely different from the main attraction at Rutledge.

Picha’s Farm of Puyallup and Tacoma
The Picha family has been part of the Puyallup Valley area since the turn of the 20th Century. Their farm is located at 6502 52nd St. E in Puyallup.
Like many others in the area, the Picha farm features a corn maze, hayride and food vendors as part of its attractions. There is also a train just for the kids, and there are often special events at the farm. You can even give the slingshot a try and win $5 off your pumpkin purchases if you hit the target.

Carpinito Brothers
This farm has one thing some of its fellow locations don’t — a tremendous view of Mount Rainer. It’s located in Kent Valley, at 27508 W. Valley Highway North.
This farm features a U-pick-it Pumpkin Patch, a corn maze, and a special area with a petting zoo called the Farm Fun Yard. If you want to take home more delights from the farm, check out its nearby farm stand, which goes above and beyond the usual and is the size of your average supermarket.

Pheasants Field Farm
Located in Silverdale at 13274 Clear Creek Road, this farm has been in operation for more than 100 years.
As part of their rich history, they host some fun fall events, including its pumpkin patch and corn maze. One way they also stand out is with pet-friendliness — dogs are OK to tour with their families as long as they are leashed.
