This is for all of you foodies out there! It is no secret that we have an abundance of great restaurants in the Tacoma, Washington area. (Did you know four Tacoma restaurants have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives?) No matter what type of cuisine you are craving, you can find it. From fine dining to diners to desserts, there is so much food to love.

But you aren’t limited to restaurants when it comes to finding your food fix. There are lots of food trucks in Pierce County. (You can find a list here.) We also have an abundance of food-related festivals that take place year-round in the area. Let’s take a quick look at four food festivals coming up later this summer so that you can plan now which ones you want to attend. May we suggest – all of them!

The Lincoln District Food Walk is happening on July 15 from 4-9 pm. While this might not be a full-blown festival, it is sure to be an evening full of music, fun and, of course, food! Not only will you be able to sample amazing food with $5 food specials, but you’ll also get to experience the atmosphere and culture of Lincoln District. Yakima Ave will be shut down, so you can stroll and eat all you want. More information is available on their Facebook page.

On August 20, head south of Tacoma to Clocktower Park to the Hudson Bay Heritage Days BBQ Competition & Family Fun. It begins at 2 pm on the 20th and ends on the 21st at 7 pm. In its sixth year, this BBQ competition will host over 30 professional and semi-professional Pitmasters. You can eat your fill of BBQ while you also enjoy locally crafted liquors and beers. There will be live music on both Saturday and Sunday along with demonstrations by the DuPont Historical Society on Sunday afternoon. You can find more information and the schedule here.

The Scooped!™ All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival starts at noon on Saturday, August 27 and runs until 11 pm on Sunday. This festival takes place at the Seattle Center. If you have an ice cream lover in your family, then it will be well worth the short drive north. It is, after all, an all-you-can-eat ice cream extravaganza. With music and games too, what’s not to love? You can find more information about this event here.

At the beginning of September over Labor Day weekend, load up and head north on WA-16W to the Bremerton Boardwalk for the Blackberry Festival. Sept. 3-5, you can join other blackberry lovers in celebrating everything blackberry. You’ll find food booths, crafts booths and plenty of children’s activities. There will be a variety of food, beer and wine offerings. You’ll also be able to enjoy three days of amazing live entertainment. Click here to learn more about this year’s festival.

It’s no wonder so many people choose to live in the Tacoma area. But it isn’t only the delicious food that draws people. The Pacific Northwest offers so much — a thriving culture and arts scene, breathtaking nature, delightful food choices and a steady job market. Whether you are a young professional or are looking to retire, Tacoma is a great place to live.
